I have fond memories of this game. Robotron 2084 was one of the first 3 arcade machines my father purchased, used from a local arcade in Burton, Michigan. I don't think I'll ever rekindle the feeling of seeing real arcade machines in the living room. It was a real "Silver Spoons" moment for me.
Our Robotron machine died as a result of the cinder-block sized linear power supply which fried a rectifier and 2 ICs on the main board. Today I still play the game via MAME (solid blue label romset). My current high score is 4,515,850 on the default settings. I actually find the keyboard is far superior to the dual joysticks as they don't cause as much fatigue.
No, because most people are ignorant and/or stupid. They will often blame Microsoft for any computer problem. Bad hard drive, faulty memory, seized cooling fan? I've heard people blame Microsoft for symptoms that occurred due to these exact problems. I'm sure you would too, simply out of spite.
The article correctly points out that sound recording, editing and mixing is fine on Linux.
Which is bullshit, because doing any audio production on generic hardware is on the top 10 list of things not to do. There's a reason people buy the expensive audio cards. Noise and interference are a huge problem on standard PC audio devices. Even worse if it's on-board audio.
I'm calling bullshit. I mostly do graphic work and the largest program I use is Photoshop CS3, weighing in at 296 MB. What non-game program do you have that uses more than 1 gig of drive space?
If Windows 7 catches on, it won't be long before you run across software that refuses to run on XP.
It's common today to find software that won't run on anything older than Windows 2000. That's largely because Windows ME, 98 and 95 were not based on NT. To assume Microsoft would release another NT based operating system that is so radically different that it would spawn "Windows 7 only" software is not only wrong, it's downright asinine.
Liar! Liar! Pants on fire!
Did you just come in from the playground to post that?
Is Microsoft paying you guys, because clearly there's an active disinformation campaign on
Typical Linux zealot and his McCarthy Style bullshit. I long for something new.
