Unfortunately, engineering ethics is something that is normally taught in the undergrad level. With the onslaught of international graduate students and H1-B workers, engineering ethics become a "luggage" for competitiveness om the domestic student or workers to compete with these people who treat plagiarism as honorable activity. Depends what kind of certification. Certifications like the PE license or PMP (project management professional) does come with a lot of quality, and it is extremely hard to cram those exams.

get some liberal arts bachelor degree or whatever, and on top of that get an MBA. Your chance of keeping your job (or even promotion) increase dramatically with the MBA.

If I am an employer I will look past the possession part, but the DUI, driving w/ license suspended etc probably call for some questioning of judgement.

most people in the U.S. use EBT cards which i don't think it will change to chip & pin soon.

If i remember correctly that kind of law were thrown out by the supreme court because of anti-trust violations. Further more, local merchants (especially in ethnic neighborhoods) have already giving discounts (by waiving sales tax and credit card fees) if you pay in cash.
