Journal: Struggling to be a geek

Last year I was running out of space on my webhost because of the growing amount of picture galleries I have to share for friends and family. So I took down that site and decided to use a spare pentium 2 machine I had to to do it myself.

Setting up the webserver and php was easy enough. Mysql gave me a few headaches but I finally got that working after only an hour so I don't feel too stupid. But gallery 2 gave me nothing but hassle. Before I went to bed last night I was having impure thoughts about flickr and google albums.

Hopefully I will be able to get it done tonight. But being a geek is hard when you can only cram in a few hours a day at best around your regular day. The only thing keeping from honest right now is lack of money =(
