Comment Cinnamon != fallback (Score 1) 194

Clarification: Cinnamon isn't "the fallback mode," by which I think you mean the thing variously referred to as "GNOME Fallback" or "Gnome Classic"
(I can't keep the terminology straight either, maybe this will help: http://askubuntu.com/questions/83351/which-is-correct-gnome-classic-or-gnome-fallback ).

Cinnamon is like the fallback mode in that it builds on Gnome 3 while attempting to feel familiar to Gnome 2 users. But it's a different codebase worked on by different people (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnamon_%28user_interface%29)

You are correct that both Cinnamon and "fallback" still lack quite a bit of Gnome 2's functionality. I'm keeping a hopeful eye on Cinnamon, but still running Gnome 2 indefinitely.

Their sponsorship only lasted 10 months. They had reaffirmed their commitment to the Ardour platform as recently as November in a press release at the AES audio conference. E3 2007 A More 'Targeted' Event 76

simoniker writes "Following some rampant media speculation over the weekend, the ESA trade organization has released an official statement on the future of the E3 game trade show, revealing that it is not cancelled outright, but is rather 'evolving into a more intimate event focused on targeted, personalized meetings and activities.' E3 2007 will still take place in Los Angeles next year, according to the ESA's Doug Lowenstein, but 'will not feature the large trade show environment of previous years.'" Which is to say, it's not really E3 anymore.
