MPLS can run efficiently on a cheap CPU, ATM usually requires ASICs, and expensive ones.

Stronger than steel is cool and all, but that doesn't necessarily mean "all the same properties of steel". Durability, heat tolerance, reaction to moisture and a host of other things are likely to mean it's not a drop-in replacement for fibreglass/plastic/metal.

You don't have much choice whether you breathe city air, or not, for economic reasons, you do have choice on how much you sit on your ass. When you start handing out free houses in the country side along with work from home contracts, your point will hold water.
