In the game, players assume the role of a noble in the lands of Westeros and look to play the game of thrones alongside and against other human players. The interview covers the gameplay, tablet functionality and working with George R. R. Martin, and also reveals how content updates will appear directly after each of the upcoming HBO episodes, bringing the events of the TV show into the game's world.

SlappingOysters writes: Grab It Magazine has published an interview with developer Tin Man Games and revered gamebook author Joe Dever about their new partnership to turn the classic, post-apocalyptic choose-your-own-adventure series Freeway Warrior into a game. Tin Man Games has history with the genre, having already converted a number of Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson's Fighting Fantasy series to tablets and smartphones. The site included one of these, Fighting Fantasy: The Forest of Doom, in its 50 Best Indie iOS Games of 2013 awards.

Say what you will about the rise of mobile and tablet gaming, and its impact on traditional gaming sectors, but it's great how it is allowing developers like this to produce these kinds of experiences, and that it's distributing those experiencing to so many millions more hands. I think it is great gaming can tell stories like this so easily to so many people.

SlappingOysters writes: You've no doubt heard that 12 Years a Slave has picked up the Academy Award for best picture, and in response Grab It Indie Games Magazine has run a story about an upcoming title called Thralled that is tackling this controversial issue on behalf of the video gaming fraternity. The magazine has published on its website a quote from the creator of Thralled, detailing what this game is doing to highlight the number of people still enslaved in the world, and why gaming is the best medium to do it. A title worth reading about, and worth supporting.

SlappingOysters writes: Grab It Indie Games Magazine has an extensive interview with Unity Technologies CEO David Helgason in its first issue, which includes some intriguing comments about the future of indie games made with the Unity3D middleware engine. Grab It has published a snippet of the interview on its website, where Helgason talks about how recent partnerships signed with Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft for the distribution of the Unity3D engine to indies for free, is enabling an increasing number of mobile games to hit consoles, and vice-versa. He also reveals that Unity is playing a key role in identifying mobile titles to the console manufacturers that deserve to be supported in a move to consoles. Helgason goes on to detail his top 10 games of 2013.

SlappingOysters writes: Legendary rock pioneer Radiohead is getting into gaming, with a typically trippy flourish, too. Grab It Magazine is reporting that the band has just released the game PolyFauna for free onto the App Store, and as you'll see from the gameplay footage, it's a bit of a mind melt. You explore these altered reality worlds inspired by the song Bloom from the album King of Limbs. What you're exploring for is left ambiguous, but it remains quite the experience and it's free after all. This is not the first time a musician has dabbled in game making. Bjork released a pretty special experience called Biophilia, while UNKLE founder James Lavelle recently announced God of Light.

SlappingOysters writes: That's right, the director of such action classics as Hard Boiled, Face/Off and Mission Impossible II has put down the camera and taken a second dip at the development scene following his so-so 2007 title Stranglehold. As you'd expect, the game — called Bloodstroke — is action focused and piles on the blood. In fact, it's all black and white save the red spilt all over the snow by the game's protagonist as she rips enemies apart. Grab It Magazine has the story and trailer.

SlappingOysters writes: Grab It Magazine is reporting that seminal 90's trip-hop crossover act UNKLE is getting into the development game. The band, which is effectively beatsmith James Lavelle and collaborators, is teaming up with Playmous and Eon Games to make a surreal puzzler involving refractions of light. The site points out that a strong niche is developing for puzzlers with a unique twist, with a number — led by Device 6 — of likeminded titles appearing in its 50 Best Indie iOS Games of 2013 awards.
