If you act as if everything you post can eventually be traced to you and you're wrong, no harm done. If you act as though stuff will never be traced back to you and you're wrong, that's a different story.

Usually the problem is something like, "it isn't giving me the newest driver" or simply the poor quality of the drivers in the first place. (For awhile there, if I clicked on the start button, it would cause my screen to reset!) And a lot of "your driver stopped responding so we turned it off, then back on again."

In some ways, I like that the drivers are being pushed to me automatically, but at the same time, if I'm doing multiple reinstalls in a single day, I've already downloaded the drivers... I don't need them to be downloaded YET AGAIN, every install...

Easy way to short circuit this - it's possible to follow their dress code and still look slutty. They want tops with collars? Fine - just don't button thrm up. Curve-accentuating jeans, shoes with clear acrylic heels (the ones worn b Trisha Heffer in Battlestar Galactica were originally obtained for $20 from Walmart). Purple or pink hair, etc. And guys, sporting bed hair all day, every day, should get your ball caps back. And get your kilts - and stay authentic - no tidy-whities.

Some rules are just begging to be broken in specific circumstances.

For anyone who can't afford half a petabyte of RAM with the commensurate number of computers? I have no good ideas... except maybe RAM cache of SSD, cache of HDD, backed up on tape...

Using something like HDFS to store your data in a Hadoop cluster of file requests, is likely the best F/OSS solution you're going to get for that...

If I spend a bunch of time rewriting code (which everyone does), as a man they might think "oh, well, he's just refactoring, or having a bad day." But when I do it, they think "wow, women can't code..." and then reject me out of hand without attempting to rationalize an explanation for why it should be overlooked...

Not that I'm particularly complaining here... this is just life as a woman in the tech industry... that and "oh wow, what does your boyfriend do at Google?" Actually, he's a literature teacher, I'm the genius programmer troubleshooter who knows almost everything about computers...

Caitlyn Jenner has already stated that she currently sees herself as asexual, but probably more of a lesbian. When people transition, sometimes the sex they're attracted to also changes, sometimes it doesn't. And Ms Wu is already married, so I guess that's not going to happen unless she wants to ride Jenner's coat tails and get more attention.

We initially disbelieved her because of the lies, nothing to do with sex or gender. That came later.

To the other question, I have made it clear that she is playing the victim card for all its worth, both as a shield and a sword. Like many, I don't buy that all the harassment was genuine; recently the authorities were asked about the investigation and said they're not in the business of embarrassing people. Ouch!
