I can only hope that this will mean EA will split Mythic from BioWare and turn it once again into a separate entity and sold off. EA ownership of Mythic has been a ugly nightmare.

Other companies have been less helpful. Out of the 24 companies surveyed and ranked based on their use of conflict minerals, Nintendo came in dead last, having made no effort to ensure that its products weren't funding guerrilla warfare in Africa. 'Nintendo is, I believe, the only company that has basically refused to acknowledge the issue or demonstrate they are making any sort of effort on it,' said Sasha Lezhnev from the Enough Project. 'And this is despite a good two years of trying to get in contact with them.'"

I don't think someone thought this app through. This app is going to tell people what the age the person is of the household, their sex, and if they are likely to be Liberal or not? I can see this app being very popular with the criminals, they can see which houses are most likely liberal since there are Democrat(s) living at that address. Now if you were a bad guy, wouldn't you love to know what the ages are in the house, if its most likely female or male, and their political leanings are since the Liberals/Progressives are most likely NOT GOING TO HAVE A GUN IN THE HOUSE! What an interesting burglary tool, or should I say, application.

Obama Wants $1 Billion For "Master Teachers Corps" 561

In the first year, as many as 2,500 teachers in those subjects would get $20,000 stipends on top of their base salaries in exchange for a multiyear commitment to the STEM Master Teacher Corps. The Obama administration plans to expand the corps to 10,000 nationwide over the next four years, with the ultimate goal that the elite group of teachers will pass their knowledge and skills on to their colleagues to help bolster the quality of teaching nationwide."

I agree, it won't happen. What we will see is a future in cashless world reserve electronic currency to replace the US Dollar by the world Elites. As the disaster of the EURO shows, if you can get governments to give up their own currency, you can dictate what they must do to continue to receive loans. Safely out of government's control, the elites will back it by gold/silver so it will be stable in price and against inflation.

NASA's Hansen Calls Out Obama On Climate Change 461
Hugh Pickens writes "Dr James Hansen, director of the NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, who first made warnings about climate change in the 1980s, writes in the NY Times that he was troubled to read a recent interview with President Obama in Rolling Stone in which he said that Canada would exploit the oil in its vast tar sands reserves 'regardless of what we do.' According to Hansen 'Canada's tar sands, deposits of sand saturated with bitumen, contain twice the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by global oil use in our entire history. If we were to fully exploit this new oil source, and continue to burn our conventional oil, gas and coal supplies, concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere eventually would reach levels higher than in the Pliocene era, more than 2.5 million years ago, when sea level was at least 50 feet higher than it is now.' Hansen says that instead of placing a rising fee on carbon emissions to make fossil fuels pay their true costs, leveling the energy playing field, the world's governments are forcing the public to subsidize fossil fuels with hundreds of billions of dollars per year."
