Problem here, he wasn't charged with anything other than resisting arrest. He was not charged with failure to obey a dispersal order. Funny, because I was not aware that charge could stand on it's own. Being a member of the press, he was allowed to be there according to the First Ammendment " record matters of public interest in a public place.", meaning he was allowed to be there to document the event as a member of the press. The police then attempted destroyed evidence of their unlawful actions. The attempted deletion of the video is a blatant admission of their guilt, these officers should not only lose their jobs, but he charged with obstruction of justice and serve prison time.

Apple started making iPhone in 2007, then they tried to mess with a company that was making portable phones for over 30 years prior and were the main developers for the backbone all all the cellphone technology. Apple thought they were hot stuff and decided to kick a sleeping dog, they just didn't realize that dog was bigger than them in the cellphone business and would bite them in the ass for messing with them. Apple has a lot of good patents and a lot of bull crap ones, ie round corners on a rectangle. This one is an actual technology and doesn't apply to the 3G standards of FRAND so they are pretty much screwed on it. They asked for it though. Motorola left Apple alone, but Apple had to try to sue Motorola and every other Android phone maker. I guess their lawyers didn't think twice about suing the company that hold nearly every patent that involves the backbone of cellphone technology.

Wasn't able to read the article at first. That is great except it wasn't in front of the wife or kid (who is like 1 year old and I am pretty sure doesn't have a Facebook or can read). The wife who was blocked from his Facebook, was stalking him through someone who they were mutual friends with Facebook. If anything this is utterly invasion of his privacy. It is like getting a mutual friend to wear a camera when they come over your house and they say you are offended that they have a sign in his that says "My Ex Sucks".

Submission + - Anonymous threatens to DDOS root Internet servers (networkworld.com) 3

alphadogg writes: Anonymous is threatening http://pastebin.com/NKbnh8q8 to launch an action on March 31 as part of "Operation Global Blackout" that would target the root Domain Name System servers. Anonymous said the attack has been planned as a protest against "our irresponsible leaders and the beloved bankers who are starving the world for their own selfish needs out of sheer sadistic fun". Though security experts are skeptical that the action will be noticed by many. "They might affect a few of the root DNS servers, but it's unlikely they could take all of them down, at least for any period of time," said Robert Graham, CEO of Errata Security.

Submission + - Sopa-II : H.R. 1981 "Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act" (businessinsider.com) 7

TaoPhoenix writes: "Here we go! As many of you predicted, SOPA would be rebuilt worse than ever by switching the Copyright flavor to a "Protect the Kiddies" flavor. You were right. H.R. 1981, entitled "Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act", has just been sponsored by Lamar Smith, the same lead proponent of SOPA. That was fast! Unfortunately it has a built in cheapo argument ready as a talking point. It also has some nasty and costly data retention clauses that weren't even in SOPA. Are we ready to do another Blackout Day? I don't think we have too many of those left before the fragile Internet coalition becomes exhausted. So, two questions: How do we stop this bill, and how do we win a victory permanent enough that we don't have to do this every single month?

The smart phone existed before the iPhone with these things called IBM Simon came out in 1992, Palm, BlackBerry, and Windows all had smart phones out in the late 90s into the 2000s. Tablets all existed before the iPad sport. Dynabook concept in 1968 and Microsoft had a tablet PC available in 2001 with HP, Lenovo, and Acer all manufacturing models. And Microsoft coin the term tablet. I would give you that Apple is the one who innovated the mp3 player. but that is about it.

As socially unacceptable, as well as creepy as this guy is it is his right to watch it. If he were beating it, it would be another story. I think this fits into the First Amendment even if it wrong. I think back to when I was a kid and the library had plenty of National Geographic magazine, anatomy and sexuality books all of which displayed nudity, will these be banned next in libraries. Granted nudity is different than pornography, but someone could just as easily be offended if someone is reading one of the books right next to someone else. Will these be the next to be banned? I could care less about whether or not you can watch porn in a library, but taking away part of the First Amendment because people might be offended is opening a can of worms.
