Comment Using Data for the good (Score 1) 120

I have seen enough on the internet to know that everything I do is monitored and has for quite some time. I know if don't want to be watched, I know not to do it over the internet, I am kind of over it. So... I think this is great. They are taking data and using it to make books more enjoyable. Maybe they will do a better job hiding whodunit at the end of a mystery. Non-fiction books such as Yoga books are too wordy. I really just want to see how to do the Tree position. Not how Tree position changed the authors life. I guess somethings could be dumbed down. I read reviews before buying a book. I don't buy those books anyways. Enjoying the 21st century...

Comment A better way to use technology to prepare food (Score 1) 115

I have been using technology in food preparation for awhile. Those websites listed are very good for very basic recipes like I have a very very good bread recipe off of Allrecipes.com. But I really like cookbooks written by great authors. I have found these authors lately by their blogs. Free recipes are just that, free. Sometimes I will look at a video on youtube if I am unsure how to follow off of a book. Such as rolling sushi or poaching an egg much easier to watch on youtube than try to read it. Also I like watching Julia Child cooking shows on Amazon Prime Instant Video. By preparing a recipe over and over, I will learn how to substitute or for example to make a crepe with ease which then lends to creativity because I am comfortable with the overall process. Also sometimes I will peruse restaurant websites to get ideas on new combinations that I could incorporate into my own cooking. Technology can enhance creativity or take from it. It is entirely up to the user.

Just because you are searching on odd things does not make you want to commit them, maybe you are researching for a book.
You would want the book to be realistic as possible.

Maybe someone is acting supicious and you think you might be slowly poisoned or something like that. You would definately want to look up why and how someone is doing this.

There are many reasons to search information on the web and it is not always to harm/hurt or even idle curiosity.

On our PS3 on their browser my children went on the internet and learned how to dance the minuet. My children are music students that have been able to play minuet on various instruments for years but recently they learned how to dance the minuet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doJ9bphxxKU
Of course you can have constructive activities on smartphones and gaming consoles.

From the chart it looks like they don't take into account there is this crazy thing called a "Backyard Garden" Granted you have to buy seeds but some vegetables will come up year after year without buying new seeds. Also how can they track how much produce the garden will produce depends on weather and how well you tend to the garden.
