There's so much wrong with this post, I don't even know where to begin, but what I really want to know is...
In the trade-off between functionality and battery life, users have chosen functionality for their real modern mobile phones. Nokia hasn't been able to compete in the area of functionality.
First, you'll need to travel back in time to when you were 13. Now you should be able to appreciate this "sophisticated" show.
I did BlackBerry development for years, and RIM was always difficult to deal with. Simple stuff like having to fill out the same web form every time I wanted to download something, even though I was logged in. Android and iOS have better tools, better support, better experience for the developer.
...one of these releases won't suck. Not holding my breath.
ALU has another product, 9907 Rapidly Deployable Network that is designed for this.

I'm still writing my Y2K compliance docs. I want to make sure they're detailed and complete before I turn them in to management. Have to get the font and formatting just right. Too soon to worry about the latest fads.
Yeah, but if they fixed it, what would we bitch about? Slashdot produces crap HTML and JavaScript to engender sophisticated discussion about web standards and coding practices. Also, the developers are not beaten with enough frequency or severity.
In a few releases, it will be worse than IE. It's not even in my top three browsers any more.
I would tell give you the list, but they're pretty obscure. You probably haven't heard of them.
