Submission + - Can Comcast impose trademark over twitter clients?

aurasdoom writes: Yesterday we received a copyright infringement letter from Comcast's lawyers over the trademark "CHIRP" as in their CHIRP.com "social networking" site. We are the developers of an iPad twitter client called Chirp Frame and we believe that "chirp" is a word linked to twitter more than Comcast's site (who uses that?). Comcast's lawyers believed that if the site has twitter feeds for the tv series they show there people will get confused about our app, but we asked other app store developers that developed twitter clients with the word Chirp and they haven't been pursued by the corp. Do they have a case or are they just going to see if we will conform to their letter?
