Submission + - Phishing Emails and Email tracking, any different?
no-body writes: Seems like major companies (like UPS) are using email tracking services to send html emails to unsuspected "customers".
Emails contain web beacons and every picture or web link in those emails is tracked and links to the tracking service, like:
Constant Contact
Exact Target
Originating email server differs from Company email seems to relate to.
So — if originating server cannot be related to the email's content and links are leading to suspicious sources,
it's a phishing email and should be reported to the company's abuse team — right?
