If it's not a problem that he hasn't been young/alive recently, how about Alberto Santos-Dumont? Among other things, "between 1898 and 1905, he built and flew 11 dirigibles. With air traffic control restrictions still decades in the future, he would glide along Paris boulevards at rooftop level in one of his airships, commonly landing in front of a fashionable outdoor cafe for lunch. The report didn't have anything else on it, so I'm guessing they didn't test for heavy metals or anything of that sort. If they had, I wouldn't have been all that surprised to see mercury and lead in the list.

Why? Because this isn't okay. Like copyright extensions to infinity and like DMCA issues, Joe Average simply doesn't know what bad stuff is going on. The only way to cause change is by votes.

The Florida man who filmed it from his front yard on his new Betamax camcorder turned the tape over to an educational organization a week before he died this past December. The Space Exploration Archive has since published the video into the public domain in time for the 24th anniversary of the catastrophe. Despite being shot from about 70 miles from Cape Canaveral, the shuttle and the explosion can be seen quite clearly. It is unclear why he never shared the footage with NASA or the media. NASA officials say they were not aware of the video, but are interested in examining it now that it has been made available."

Of course some games are funny (Super Paper Mario had some great jokes), and even Smash Brothers Brawl made me laugh a few times.
I can't help but notice that the game you single out for being funny is not a game that seeks to "deliver a more realistic experience to the player" with detailed 3D graphics; in many ways it is in fact a "text-driven adventure."

I have a series of computers, each louder and progressively further away from me, which blare the 'Gilgamesh' music from Final Fantasy V. The first one starts playing, then five minutes later the second one farther away and louder than the first starts playing, etc. I live alone...

For academic reasons I can't move to wherever I want, but if I could I think that Finland might be my first choice. It's not too hot, has an interesting language, and has the best music. ;-)
