I hope that whatever the decision they come to about the future of Nintendo consoles that it will take into account gameplay instead of novelty. The Wii is great but it's controllers are a huge leap from the norm and significantly changes the gaming experience - for the worse. Putting novelties like wii sports, etc. aside, the Wii is missing out on a lot of "normal" titles that are very good simply because of its interface. Maybe they can scale it back a bit on the next attempt. It kinda reminds me of pretentious modern art or music... people sacrifice substance in order to "do something original." Of course that's a bit of an exaggeration.

Some kind of middle ground would be optimal.

I'd like to see how this relates to how people analyze the faces of other people and how it affects if they like them. In the article, it states that people were attracted to the meaner, angrier, more arrogant, etc. traits but I suspect it would be the opposite if we were talking about some guy instead of a car. I wonder why that is...

Not a bad +/- list. Thanks. I think it's worth a mention that - to no fault of MS - Sony pulling Columbia pictures is a big deal. Columbia has A LOT of movies. That's a big hole in content. I hate when corporate squabbles end up screwing over the customer. Hopefully they can get something sorted out. Does Sony honestly think that this move will make more people buy a PS3/less people buy a 360? The irrestible incentive of some Columbia pictures? The whole idea is retarded... Sony is just making me hate on them some more.

Why was she going through his emails? Specifically his "sent" folder. You don't just need to login in... you actually need to put some concious effort into navigating into the sent mail folder. She was clearly snooping. Marriage = fail.

I like how he refers to the soul as "conciousness," which is in turn some "emergent property" of a "complex system." i.e. He doesn't have a fucking clue what a soul is. Specualtion: pointless. I do like him, though. H+ FTW!

Here at the University of Waterloo--a major CS academic hub--a lot of professors are starting to use macs for everything from lectures to research. We keep getting labs full of macs, too. A walk through the CS building shows you how popular they've become, so while *nix might be the choice of the most hardcore (and/or the purists), you can't deny that these apple machines are literally everywhere these days.
