I can't think of a tax that's too low. Except the FICA rates this year and proposed for next.
If you want to be even better informed, you will study up on progressive tax rates and find that unless tax rates are indexed to inflation it represents a tax hike.
But you knew that, correct?
Couldn't you buy a Corolla and have enough money left over to pay for 30 years of driving? And you can get it serviced at the local garage?
The total tax rate including federal, FICA, state, local, sales, real estate and nuisance taxes are considerably higher than ever.
Also keep in mind that you're comparing tax rates without considering the effects of inflation on wages.
If you look at the tax rates on someone making $175K in 2011 you have to compare with the tax rates of someone making $30K in wages in 1950.
Plus, people making less than $50K largely pay little or no federal income tax today.
Make the case that this site is contributing to copyright infringement and use SOPA to take it down.
Facebook was invented by the "younger generation" to sell your information to the highest bidder all the while keeping you enthralled with mindless chatter and farmville.
I think I'd prefer the clueless older generation to the clueful newer generation; the older generation is much clumsier at trying to subvert the internet.
From the viewpoint of the people proposing and supporting the law, if it breaks the Internet, too bad.
In their view, nothing is more important than the principle of them controlling their copyrights. If it takes the destruction of the Internet, so be it.
I imagine if buggy whip manufacturers would have had a better lobby 100+ years ago, they would have lobbied for laws that would have forced motorists to always keep a buggy whip in their car.
Well ladies and gentlemen, record, film, game, and software companies do have better lobbyist. And they're not afraid to use them.
We'll send special ships to the center of the earth with large hydrogen bombs that will restart the rotation of the core itself.

Rep. Waters is a Democrat.
When some politician firmly stated:
"We will tax all foreigners living abroad!"
So he's dumb and unlucky.
Its not clear how he escaped Darwin's wrath with the odds so heavily stacked against him.
So if c/net download.com has infected your PC, how do you recover? Will normal anti-virus or anti-malware undo the damage?
Does it show up in the uninstaller?
The Kindle will let you loan your book to other people. They have to have a kindle (or free kindle software), but the lending feature is available.
No it does not. Only Amazon's books. You are free to load whatever books you want, and Calibre is a great tool to do it.
