it is one thing to steal music to entertain yourself (and we can argue all day about whether file sharing is copyright infringement or fair use) but it is a _completely_ different story to steal something and then try to resell/market it as your own. At least if you aren't paying for use of some creative work, you are at least appreciating it for its greatness. Trying to pass off someone else' IP as your own obfuscates the true brilliance of the creator, making it more difficult for someone else to recognize and purchase their work.
