I'm not concerned with them having who I call. So I call my partner. my kids, my parents. my friends. Mostly we text, I'm sure they monitor text's too. Again, If they want to know I need to pick up a gallon of milk on the way home more power to them. There is just far to much data to be truly useful. I guess if your up to no good you have to worry but for the average person i suspect they just don't care.

While not strickly a game many people find it a great way to interact with others far away., I met my partner there. She lived across the country for the first year of our relationship. Sounds strange but many of the things that can be done in real life can be done in Second Life. There are live DJ's and live musicians if you like to go dancing. There are video stores where you can purchase a video for viewing and watch it stream together from the comfort of your virtual home. There are some theaters. There is a ton to do in SL. From G rated on up. Its what you make it and its a great way to date while far away from your loved one.

Well one could argue that all salaries have decreased.. The states are out of money. That leave 2 choices, Cut salaries or let teachers go. I don't know how long you have been teaching but if you are new your the low person on the totem pole then your the first to go. This is a failing of the union. Its good to get further education. That's something that is a great thing. The solution of testing the students and that effecting your pay. It depends on more then just the teacher. The parents are a huge part of a student succeeding. That being said why do we not test the teachers? If they fail give them a year to catch up with the rest of teachers and if not, boot them.

Ok, it all sucks. Something has to be done but neither candidate has vowed to boost taxes. Romney says he wants to give a 20% tax cut across the board and wants to build 15 new warships a year, something the military is not asking for. Obama has promised not to raise taxes. Both are bad. Things aren't going to magically fix themselves. We have a huge deficit brought on by years of government spending, Do we fail to pay back China when they could impose serious sanctions that would effect us all and so the teachers suffer pay cuts. I'm making about 15000 less then I made 10 years ago. Nature of the beast. The only solution that could possibly help would be the most unwanted solution, Raise taxes, boost education, something I believe in. Otherwise the deficit will continue to go. 1.6 trillion this year alone was added to the deficit. Raise the taxes, Close the deduction loopholes. It's our country and its flailing to stay afloat.

OK the biggest problem we have in amongst current teachers is lack of training. Some of those teachers have done no followup training since they graduated from college 20 years ago. My daughter was give and F on an art project because, and i quote her teacher, "Art done on the computer is not art." Funny, my sister makes 85k a year doing art on the computer.

The unions are the problem. We cant fire those who failed to keep up on their training. Your in school 180 days of the year. That leaves a lot of extra time for training. If we ditch the unions the teachers will either be forced to train or be replaced by someone who does have the skills required by modern students.

Comment Recently during the Chicago teachers strike. (Score 0) 570

I was watching the news and they of course covered it; The teachers were striking because they only make $72,500 a year. The average medium income for Chicago is 41K/year. So next time you say "teachers don't get paid enough" think of Chicago. An dont forget. They only work 180 days a year.

Admittedly i know little about teachers salaries but if that Chicago is any example you being fed a line of crap.

Apples losing share because they do not stay current on tech. They are behind the phone system. Also there product was designed to be idiot proof but idiot proof frustrates technical people. Take that and Apple Itunes monopoly and policies and you have a recipe for a losing market share. I have owned a Iphone and presently own a Samsung Galaxy Note. Its nice to access the LTE network for more speed.

These are both good quality products but I will favor the Samsung from now on. Apple should quit its whining just because someone has a similar product and improve its product.
