China Says There's No Antitrust Probe On Microsoft 87

natenovs writes "China's intellectual-property rights enforcer said the government isn't probing Microsoft Corp. for breaching antitrust laws, denying yesterday's report by a state-owned newspaper. 'We are not conducting an anti-monopoly investigation against Microsoft and have no plans to do so,' Yin Xintian, a spokesman and legal director at the State Intellectual Property Office, said by telephone today in Beijing. The newspaper's report is 'completely untrue,' the agency said on its Web site."

Submission + - Media Center Patch released to ignore Content Flag (msmvps.com)

Iced_Eagle writes: Microsoft has now released a patch for Vista Media Center that will ignore the CGMS-A flag that blocked users from recording certain NBC episodes last month.

It will now ignore the flag and record the episode anyway. The patch (KB950126) should be available on Windows Update.

The caveat is that this patch is only for those with OTA or analog cable connections. Those with CableCARD tuners or are connected to a STB via S-Video may still be affected, if content providers give out the flag.

However, we know that won't happen again, right?

ISO Puts OOXML On Hold 138

schliz alerts us that ISO, in response to the four appeals (Venezuela, India, Brazil, South Africa) filed in recent weeks, has put the OOXML standardization process on hold. Here is ISO's press release, which says that ISO/IEC DIS 29500 will not be published for at least "several months" while the appeals process goes forward.
Update: 06/11 10:13 GMT by KD : Reader Alsee points out that the fourth officially recognized appealing country is Venezuela, not Denmark as originally stated. The protests of Denmark and Norway are being disregarded, as they do not come from the administrative heads of their national organizations.
