well, for what it's worth, you have the best SciFi.

I have to wonder how this will affect projects like Cyanogen mod.
some of these guys have a remote setup like what you describe and would be better able to help you.

My setup is like I described. I have a converted 10" Dob on an Equatorial mount that I use for astrophotography.
It's not high end, but it does wonders on a budget.
Dobs in the 5" - 10" range are perfect.
I recommend 8-10.
when they out grow the Dob mount you can buy some rings and put them on an equatorial mount.
it gives you an upgrade path.

maybe they should try letting people pick a level of code that they want to update to.
you could have the really overly tested stuff that doesn't break. we'll call this Stable.
then you could have the stuff that fixes the last problem, but might break something new. we'll call this Testing.
then you could have the bleeding edge stuff that you run just because you want the bragging rights of running some truly unstable shit. we'll call this Siri, Sydney or maybe Sid for short.
i'll bet M$ could even patent it.
i mixed opinions on this.
does the same rule apply to SpaceX when they film one of their tests?
a little rivalry is a good thing.
I'm a fan of both and still believe that putting all your eggs in one basket will just lead to other problems.
Just think of it as the new Facebook beta.
more of a disillusioned former Google supporter. many feel burned and bitter by their big brother crap.
it's not spin, just preparing for the worst, because that is the trend they've been showing us.
absolute control/power corrupts absolutely.
Google grabbing more power?
not surprised. surprised would be if they "did no evil".

does anyone know what CyangenMod will be doing?
look up the history of BMRT
I'd be happy if they gave that back.
I was a bit skeptical when I'd first heard about this.
What I hope happens is that they start off focusing on commercial applications like parking lots and drive ways.
That will give the technology time mature and the price to come down.
otherwise yeah, I suspect we'll be rebuilding a lot of roads as they work the real world bugs out.

just have a sprayer over each entrance and exist.
