This isn't funny. The US is still free despite our speeding toward socialism as our current regime completely ignores rules of law. Your tired rhetoric about CEO's or the rich shows just how ignorant you are in your understanding of the real world. The only thing separating rich from poor today is confidence in the system. The fact that both rich and poor are still investing, working and going about their daily business shows that we still believe in the system. The alternative isn't pretty and probably means a collapse of our infrastructure. At that point suddenly a food cache becomes wealth and all the walls and expensive shit won't be worth a damn if you're hungry.

How, exactly, do people purchasing a good cost the world economy anything? Someone makes a product and another person buys it, viola, you have an economy where none was before. What they really need to say is that counterfeit goods are costing some rich sports agent and their marketing team who prey on the simpletons who elevate athletes to superstar status. That would be the truth.

This has nothing to do with safety, the government hasn't yet figured out how to tax these excursions so they are delaying their approval.

I am sick of hearing about global warming or climate change. It's like worrying about the sun rising tomorrow. Since there isn't a damn thing I can do about it, I choose to ignore it and hope it goes away.

Sometimes I wonder, when I am having sex or pooping, if my relatives in heaven can see what I am doing. I mean if there is an after life and we really do go to heaven to watch over our loved ones, what's to stop them from seeing me doing the nasty? Would that be considered metadata? I just bought a new thermostat. I really wanted a Nest because of it's cool factor however, I ended up buying a Honeywell. First, the Nest isn't as advanced; for example, the Honeywell has some features that allow me to run the fan periodically throughout the cycles. It also allows me to add an additional "slave" thermostat and average the temperature between my upper and lower levels. While the Nest allows you to view multiple thermostats in a single interface each stat required separate HVAC systems. The Honeywell also comes with a remote control that sense the temperature where you are sitting and will adjust the set point to make you comfortable. The bottom line is that sometimes new and cool isn't as good as tried and true when you actually do some research.

So they have a device to mimic the sea in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland which is next to the sea. It seems to me they could be better served by simply taking a boat out and training with the real thing. This is like having sex with a blow up doll while your wife is in the bed next to you.

According to my employer, workers from overseas that are in the US and want to become citizens require lawyer time which isn't cheap. The article didn't mention whether the person from India was coming permanently or if the position was temporary. If it wasn't an H-1B (temporary) position then the lower wage might have been justified based on the cost of bringing the person over and the subsequent costs associated with sponsorship.

Automakers need to supply an option to turn off connectivity. I think a switch on the dashboard would be adequate. Unless there is a PCI-ish compliance law for my personal data collected by Ford or any other manufacturer, and since I am never sure exactly what or how they are collecting it, what they are collecting is a violation of my personal privacy. Maybe we should be asking our congress for mandates to that affect. Except the government will be the first to subpoena the manufacturers to grab the data. Maybe the ball peen hammer idea is the best.

I'm sorry but you are not exactly correct. In 1975, Kodak invented the device that utilized the CCD chip to ultimately cause its own demise. That device is the digital camera. Kodak was the market leader in digital imaging technology and their position was enhanced by both Apple and Adobe. However, as devices became more prolific and other manufacturer's quality and usability increased, Kodak was unable to capitalize on its own technology. Without a successful next generation product, the decline in the use of film which was their high margin bread and butter is what caused them to seek bankruptcy protection.
