Um...yes, GP was correct to begin with, at least within the US, though you are no doubt just trolling.

The core idea is simply stated, but profound and far-reaching in its implications. Libertarians believe that each person owns his own life and property, and has the right to make his own choices as to how he lives his life â" as long as he simply respects the same right of others to do the same.

from libertarianism.com

According to the U.S. Libertarian Party, libertarianism is the advocacy of a government that is funded voluntarily and limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.

Your communication with the notaries is encrypted, however, which would prevent any editing of the returned certificate, assuming that the encrypted channel to the notaries is secure. Of course validating those keys is still a problem, but since they appear to be distributed with the program in the case of Perspectives, they can't really be hijacked, unless your initial download/install of Perspectives was intercepted, which should be able to be reasonably secured.

One possible solution to your posed problem is use of a Medea element. Professor Bruce Hay at Caltech has done some fascinating work developing genetic elements that ensure spread of an introduced gene throughout a wild population (see http://www.its.caltech.edu/~haylab/), specifically for the purposes of using it conjunction with an anti-malarial gene.

If you want to change the default address bar search in firefox without using a keyword search, go to about:config and search for "keyword.URL". Change the entry to "https://www.google.com/search?..." from "http://www.google.com/search?..." This will make the default search behavior in the address bar use SSL (confirmed with wireshark).

Talking about scalability in terms of infinitely fast components is just silly, because no such component can ever exist.

That's my point. You can't talk about the scalability of abstract concepts because they can never actually exist. Only implementations can be scalable. If you want to talk about ratios, then an arbitrarily fast Turing machine can handle as much work offered in as little time desired: that is, it has infinite scalability. Such a concept is clearly nonsense.

Please, limit yourself to the real world instead of trying to embarrass yourself with generalizations to nothingness.

You sound like a college student. Now, given your turing machine, if you have sequential operation, then two turing machines can complete the same work in, um, the same amount of time. Scalability = 0. How is that implementation driven?

if you're not a god damn idiot and follow best practices, then yes it will be plenty secure. there's no reason to make security seem like this really difficult thing to implement and only reallllly smart people like those who make Drupal and Joomla can do.
