What the fuck?

How the fuck can we keep allowing knee-jerk idiots to continue making decisions in technical areas where they have no fucking experience or knowledge?

All this shit's being driven by the same assholes who come up with ideas like "x-strikes and you're banned from the net."

Wise up.

This sure sounds like the scenario that Justice Douglas was talking about.

I say fuck 'em. Until they get their act together and provide what is needed instead of supporting a business mdoel better suited for the 50s, I'll stick with USENET, torrents, and file sharing services to watch the broadcast shows I like.

When they decide they need the business, they'll come up with reasonable plans and I'll come back. Until then, I'll be happy with my own servers providing the content I want, from any source I want, when I want it.

This doesn't look like a Nimitz-class. It more closely resembles the deck of a Russian or Chinese carrier with a ski-jump front end.

If Iran is scoring new carrier-capable aircraft, where do you think they'll get them and what kind will they be? Want to bet they STOL using a ramp system?

Since when is NASA a big daddy defense contractor? This is a task they could manage in-house with the resources they already have on hand.

The original hardware is missing, sure. But that's no big deal. RF is RF. They can use a Software Defined Radio (SDR) and throw together a program to parse the telemetry into something meaningful. After all, the only thing disposed of was the hardware. The specifications for everything else is on file.

All they need is some support instead of more snarky remarks. Sure, NASA kinda fucked up when the hardware was trashed, but hardware that's been idle for 15-20 years looks like it's only collecting dust (which it was). But who actually knew it was still needed? That is plenty long enough for the engineers who once used it to move on to other employers or to simply grow old enough to reach retirement and leave.

Well, not all of you, but definitely those of you who are simple minded enough to become caught up in party politics as though it makes a difference in the outcome of anything decided in Washington.

And you poor sad bastards who actually believe that the whitehouse petitions are anything more than pacifiers to quiet your whining, did you actually believe that any substantive changes would come about as a result of you signing a petition? Seriously? Change doesn't happen in Washington unless someone in the government personally wants it, is bribed to change it, or is forced to as part of an attempt to cover up some other malfeasance.

The petitions are a way for the American government to stuff a cock-shaped pacifier in your mouths while the government goes ahead and does what it wants irregardless of your wishes.

Bread and circuses, people. Bread and circuses.
