Just leave a mouse out of the package laying around in a targeted office. Eventually, someone will need or want the mouse and plug it in for you.

It's less sure and could take a while compared to plugging it in yourself, but it makes the person who gets infected want to keep quiet and even if they figure out where the mouse came from (unlikely), you have plausible deniability.

I think probably the difference between "Deep Tracks and KSHE is that "deep tracks" is a secondary stream similar to KSHE2; you need a digital radio to pick it up, and KSHE (which is listened to world-wide) is the main feed, and KSHE2 isn't streamed. I remember his first year when it was a 'hoax'. Then the next year he went all in and made it real. As ugly as his website should be I hope some version exists in archive.org, he's been a christmas tradition since early 2000s when I first heard about him on Fark or Slashdot.

I wish they would had put their efforts into Debian's kFreeBSD. It can't move to systemd and they downgraded it from an 'official' Jessie release.

Personally it's a bit of the best of FreeBSD and the best of Debian (apt-get) in a nice package. There's no problem with ZFS being 'in' the kernel. The latest versions of FreeNAS and FreeBSD both have ZFS booting.

Plus it still has all the debian server admin tools.

Unless these schemes are proven to fail again and again, there will only be more of them. If you don't want every trivial device in your life to refuse to use anything but it's own overpriced brand of expendables, one would think you would at least encourage if not otherwise support efforts like these.
