He never claimed to be a theist. He just said it's a circle jerk. But whatever. Hide behind your monitor and call me an asshole all you want big man.
That's my point. Not all of us are intolerant assholes. I may be an asshole at times, but not for religious reasons
I know a lot of Christians and although I don't have data to back it up I do propose that most of them in the US are tolerant and it's the smaller more radical groups that get the most press, deservingly. If all of them were intolerant radicals then this country would be much different though, because religious believers are the majority here. I would put forward that tolerance is typical, but we must keep fighting for it on both sides of religion.
I'm not saying you need to stop criticizing. Criticism is good, it keeps theists on their toes and makes them think, myself included. No one's actions are above oversight. No question should be held back.
As for standing up for what is right? I'm right beside you. I'll stand right beside you and stand up for your beliefs. I can't follow Christ and be intolerant, it does not compute IMHO. Unless you are talking about the basic morals that most humans live by (don't murder, don't steal, etc).
Donny: Are those the Nazis dude?
Walter: No Donny, these men are cowards.
Are you telepathic or did the OP tell you in a private message what he believes? Because if not you pretty much just validated his point. You dove right in without thinking and made yourself the hypocrite.
So let me get this straight. You want to be treated with respect but you refuse to treat others of faith with respect because someone else did something that offended you and they just happened to be theists also?
You're probably a logical thinker, but sir that's illogical and pretty much the definition of intolerant.
Flamebait? Seriously? That's pretty funny. I guess that's what I get for arguing about how illogical the parent's post was. Maybe I should avoid emotion, you bitches can't seem to handle anything past a whisper. Bunch of candy asses IMHO.
I never said a thing about the nexus one, the parent did and I went off on a rant about how it doesn't even matter because it's irrelevant. I could give two shits about the nexus one.
It has reception issues, as the parent to my post pointed out.
You know I see this type of response here all the time and you know what? It's not a legit response. Just because there was no lawsuit for a completely different product does not mean this one is baseless or unfair. Anytime an apple product is shat upon someone has to come out of the woodwork and point out another inferior product, like that makes it all okay. Well, no, it doesn't.
That is a good question and now I see your point. I'm not sure about the rules there. I think these type of questions should be asked though and I think that's what these groups are saying. They want to be sure no one is skirting the rules and a little inquisitive inspection is probably warranted. In such a position your expectation for privacy is limited, just because the power you wield could easily be abused. It's not asking too much IMHO. They know this going in.
Nah, you have to register as a federal lobbyist, the Lobbying Disclosure Act and Honest Leadership and Open Government Act cover this. There isn't any vague area here.
Once you get into a public trust position you are expected to keep your contact with certain people, like lobbyists and contractors, strictly professional. If you have a personal relationship with someone you have to work with in this capacity it will be a problem and you will be expected to break it off or quit your position. There are rules outlining everything from gifts to phone calls. There isn't any room to maneuver here with the "yeah but what about the grandmom that gave us $100" defense. This isn't about her. This is about your "friend" over at Big Oil telling you to keep cameras off the beach in Pensacola because it might look bad, etc. A legit need for oversight.
This sounds like a great time for Groucho Marx's "Hello, I must be going":
Hello, I must be going.
I cannot stay,
I came to say
I must be going.
I'm glad I came
but just the same
I must be going.
For my sake you must stay,
for if you go away,
you'll spoil this party
I am throwing.
I'll stay a week or two,
I'll stay the summer through,
but I am telling you,
I must be going.
Never mind shaking the foundation of capitalism at the same time, validating administration critics that they will use opportunism to favor socialization of some sectors. I'm not sure I can ever agree with seizing a company because it's basically reneging on an agreement between the government and the company. These circumstances should be accounted for by raising the liability and that will help slow the amount of errors they make because put simply their insurance, whatever it may be, will go through the roof as the risk goes up.
I would bet we will see quite a lot of speculation and price fluctuations soon based on how congress reacts to this gigantic mess. They've already voted against raising the liability once.
True. he did live on after many clashes and I'll give him that. I was just trying to point out that Gandhi was shot by radicals eventually. Not really faulting him for that, it's just a tragic world we live in. IMHO he was one of the bravest souls to ever walk the earth. Right up there with Jesus in his ability to face violence with just spirit. He'll live forever because of that.
