Submission + - The Ethics of Hacking
An anonymous reader writes: I have to write a 10-page paper on the ethics of hacking. It is a confusing subject and there is much disagreement. The best admins have done a lot of grey and maybe even black hat hacking themselves, which is why they know how to secure a network. How far can you go when messing around in other peoples' networks? Is it ethical to put exploits you find up for bid? Even in regular white-hat IT ethics often collide with work. Any examples from personal experience or links to good articles are appreciated.
