I don't mean increased accuracy. Integration and other continuous modeling and simulation could be improved by using analog-digital hybrids. This was also their original purpose.

Student Charged With Three Felonies For Finding Security Flaw — and Report 547

Well, yet another teenage hacker who "did the right thing" by reporting a security flaw is being punished for his actions. Although it definitely sounds like the whole story may not be in the clear yet, a 15-year-old New York high school student has been charged with three felonies claiming that he accessed a file containing social security numbers, driver's license numbers, and home addresses of past and present employees ... and then sent an anonymous email to the principal alerting him to the security flaw. "All that was needed to access the information was a district password. School officials have admitted that thousands of students, faculty and employees could have accessed the same file for up to two weeks."

Shirke writes: "A Finnish computer magazine reports (in Finnish) that Finnish Standards Association has fired Mr. Lassi Nirhamo. Mr. Nirhamo was chairing the OOXML standard proposal meeting. During the meeting Mr. Nirhamo asked other board members to be excused of his duties and voice his opinion as a private citizen. Afther this was granted he criticized the standard proposal and resumed his duties as chairman. Independent observers have assessed his chairmanship as "excellent" and "one of a kind". Mr. Nirhamo has now been laid of due to "lack of trust". The Association is also accepting applications for the position. Anyone interested?"
