Working on computers myself for a living, I disagree with this. The people who come in with machines infected with malware are the ones who will say all they do is go on the internet with their machine, and they don't always get how that can get them in trouble. The same with changing the battery on an ipod, you may not think about it until it becomes a necessity. Mind you, I would wager not seeing any way to get the thing open probably does give some indication though...

iPhone App Refund Policies Could Cost Devs 230

CBRcrash writes "Apparently, if iPhone users decide that they want a refund for an app (users can get a refund within 90 days, according to Apple policy), Apple requires that developers give back the money they received from the sale. But, here's the kicker: Apple will refund the full amount to the user and says that it has the right to keep its commission. So, the developer not only has to return the money for the sale, but also has to reimburse Apple for its commission."

Submission + - Mac for gaming?

An anonymous reader writes: Is there really any way around buying a Mac pro for gaming if I already have a monitor? My current setup is run through a 32 inch LCD, and the only 2 options I see are a mac book pro starting at $1999 or a mac pro starting at $2499. Seeing the new state of Parallels is very tempting for gaming along the lines of Counter Strike:Source and other steam games. But is there simply any way around paying $2000+ for a system that can be done in the PC market for around $500?
