Dear Representative:

We should not go to war over a cyber crime that does not cost the lives of American Citizens. We should not go to war over drugs, we should not go to war over oil prices, we should not go to war over a conflict that is unlikely to cost American lives. We are not the world police, we do not have a morally superior nation, our way is not the only correct way.

We should go to war to save American lives. Including the lives of our soldiers. I understand that it is not always easy to determine when a situation is going to result in the deaths of Americans, and in those cases I'd like you to pursue diplomatic means until you determine that there is a clear and present danger to American lives that outweighs the risk of death you intend to inflict upon our soldiers.

Well, I'm not sure how many plants we could put in the desert, as nuclear energy usually requires a large amount of water.

The entire advertising system in general makes me a bit sick. I'm paying extra on every product that I buy so that the company that sells it can spend that extra money on advertising. I don't feel even the slightest bit guilty turning on ad-blockers. ESPECIALLY with many ads containing virus payloads these days. How about you charge less for the product, and I spend my money to support websites I actually care about.

Actually, some would argue that one of the defining traits of Humanity is to plan for the future based on past experiences.

It sucks to see the GPL being used to shut down an organization that dedicates itself to something noble like adult education. Then again, what did they have to gain by NOT publishing their changes and removing the copyright info?

They are still selling Windows XP today. This is not like a car manufacturer failing to offer a warranty on 10 year old cars. This is like a car manufacturer still selling a car they designed 10 years ago, but failing to sell parts, and banning anyone else from trying to sell aftermarket parts.

How do you think laws get changed? Magic? A bunch of people discuss them (like we're doing here), and then get angry (like some of us are doing here), then work together to get them changed (like the EFF and other organizations are doing).

If you're going to bash Microsoft, at least choose things they actually do wrong. Failure to renew your Windows license in a corporate environment does not result in data loss. Most (not all) Microsoft Corporate licensing schemes work on the honor system. No activation, no checking of how many licenses you have, not even a reminder popup. In fact, you have to intentionally *install* software to help you manage your licenses with Microsoft.

Every one of these incidents seeks to assure us that there is a flaw in the manufacturing process.

I am beginning to suspect that there is a flaw in the design of today's lithium batteries.

My guess is that short of having experience working with Law, your average layman wouldn't even be able to fully understand all of the implications of this agreement.

I block youtube as well as facebook, myspace, etc on my network.

Youtube has clips that are unfit for young children. Parents need only the slightest excuse to sue these days, and whose job do you think will be forfeit in an attempt to appease them?
