Historically speaking, America is a teenager compared to Europe. The overconfidence and smugness is typical. If the US lasts a few hundred more years, it'll likely be more humble and mellow about things. Right now, it still feels like it has something to prove and that it's invincible.

Bitcoin and its ilk are usually referred to as "cryptocurrencies". The idea is to have a system where exchange of goods and services cannot be tracked back to individuals. Right now supposedly the government can monitor everything you buy, or at the very least request records of what you buy from your bank. And, again supposedly, Bitcoin is meant to be anonymous. It's appealing to people who are really into that sort of thing.
Just because they're ineffective against tanks and drones doesn't mean they're incapable of killing groups of innocent, unarmed people with little effort.

If you care at all about video games in general, why would you pirate this game in light of the amazing treatment CD Projekt is giving gamers? Absolutely no DRM, play-anywhere, and an astounding pre-release bonus package.
I'm normally opposed to devs going all vigilante and hunting down pirates, but I think in this particular situation, I think Wither 2 pirates really deserve some sort of punishment, whether legal or physical.
