Submission + - RaspberryPi Ships Firast Root Filesystem (raspberrypi.org)

It's not the one they will ship (which is Fedora) but one they have apparently been using during development. Not particularly useful to those of us who have no boards but interesting nonetheless. To me it looks like they are shaking the infrastructure in anticipation for the launch.

Submission + - Capacity Limits on Wireless Broadband Frequencies

Submission + - FBI Dragnet To Use Racial Profiling, Data Mining (google.com)

d'baba writes: The AP has published an article that reports on a proposed policy change at the FBI such that preliminary investigations into individuals will be brought based on data-mining results which the government calls "predictive models and patterns of behavior". The article says further, "Among the factors that could make someone subject of an investigation is travel to regions of the world known for terrorist activity, access to weapons or military training, along with the person's race or ethnicity."
