Such vitriol over my little comment. You'll have to excuse me. I'm Canadian, we're all apathetic. You on the other hand are the type of person who amuses me most. You're one of those who reads the paper or watches CNN and believes what they're saying. My advice would be to pull your head out of your butt and read a Noam Chomsky book. And one final reality check, your country is 16 trillion in debt and nobody is buying what the U.S. is selling these days.

Comment But the U.S. Has A Two Party System (Score 5, Interesting) 503

Anyone who watched one of the recent debates (yawn) would know there's really only two parties. And in actuality neither one runs the country. Big Money runs the country, Wall Street, the Oil companies, the so-called Military-Industrial Complex. Therefore anyone who thinks that it makes a difference who wins the election or that there will be real changes or that they will do what they say, well they just haven't been paying attention. One guy has made himself filthy rich by sticking it to the little guy his whole life and the other has done ... well, nothing. God bless America.

Speaking as someone who's been down and out more than once, I'd concur that the Salvation Army is far and away .the most helpful organization when it comes to feeding needy people. I always make it a point to help them (if I can), and always tell people that they've helped me when nobody else would. Labelling them as anti-gay is a spurious argument. They ARE a church for goodness sake. Name one church that isn't anti-gay. They still help people.

Given the rural location, speed and altitude, your chances of making a good connection are dubious at best. There are still way more questions than answers. It doesn't surprise me that the people who run things would perpetrate or use this situation like they have, but that people who overwhelmingly state that they don't believe what their elected officials tell them are willing to do so with regards to 2001-09-11. We'll see the reaction when the other shoe drops.

After ten years of this charade I'm still shaking my head. There is NO way the World Trade Towers came down on their own like they did. You can't make a call on a cell phone from an airplane. And the Pentagon is the most unusual case with almost no (believable) physical evidence. And yet the United States has embarked on a "mission" to rid the world of evil, which has driven it to the brink of bankruptcy. I cringe every time I hear "God Bless America". And keep waiting for all this to make sense. Heroes my ass. And all the celebrating only makes the citizens of the U.S. look like the fools they are.

If you're one of those people who never goes near a computer, and I have many friends who know zero, couldn't even turn one on then all you would see is the sinister uses. And I believe that keeping track of every purchase made by every citizen is sinister. The problem is I don't see any way of stopping it from coming about. Quick note to Christians in India, the people who decide these issues are the ones who have the money and they don't actually believe the Bible. They may like to say they do but I'm sure you would agree that actions speak louder than words. Let's hope your number is a lucky one!

Ubuntu Replaces F-Spot With Shotwell 361

climenole writes "Finally! The much discussed F-Spot vs. Shotwell battle is over. The new default image organizer app for Ubuntu Maverick 10.10 is going to be Shotwell. This is a much-needed change; F-Spot was simply not enough. Most of the times when I tried F-Spot, it just keeps crashing on me. Shotwell on the other hand feels a lot more solid and is better integrated with the GNOME desktop. Shotwell is also completely devoid of Mono."

It's a noble concept you have, but not only is there a huge gap between those at the top and bottom, but especially with the slow malingering death of unions that gap is growing.
