Comment Finally! (Score 1) 119

I was only commenting to a mate a few weeks ago that i was supprised at the lack of iphone 4 rumours but it seems its begun.. I'm not big on alot of the BS from Apple, but the annual rumour mill on the next iphone is always a load of fun. I only have a few requests, make it easier to get the freakin sim card out, make the touch screen extend past the screen so u can scroll etc off the screen without your fingers getting in the road and i'll be a happy chappy!

Dude, go see the world. Between the French ,the English and us Australians and to a lesser degree Americans (because they generally take jokes at their expense poorly) giving each other a ribbing all in good fun is just how we roll. It's always been the case and probably always will be. I'm never offended by a joke at Australia's expense from any of our "allies" so to speak, i often find it funnier than the joke teller. We're all comfortable that we are timeless friends with more in common than we differ and mean no harm. Apologies if a joke gets under your thin skin, but there's a bigger world out there than the box you live in. Americans neither invented, resurrected or propogated the whole "fromage eating surrender monkey" shtick, they just joined in on the joke. Granted most Americans lack a propper sense of humour past the drivel they pump out in their sitcoms these days.. so It's hard to tell the difference when they have a go, but trust me, the rest of us aren't bothered and we're all in on the joke and you're giving yourself heartburn over nothing.

Well i know your comment was meant in jest but i dont know about that, I too have a cousin terribly addicted to WoW, so much so that he's almost unbarable to be around, if you're at his house, wow is always on, team speak going randoms from around the world talking int he background, and when you pry him out of the house he talks of nothing else.. however he recently got a girlfriend he MET IN WOW. Now hes obsessed with both WoW AND his new found womanly obsession, so i dont think sex is the whole answer... It tipped me over the edge and i havent been able to see/talk to him since, it just anoys me too much :(

could explain to me why we already have 2 cable networks that could be running at 100mbps already (telstra cable at my place is a bit over 30 atm) and theres never been much if any willingess by anyone to expand the network over the last 10 years or so?
I understand the old "oh but its shared" argument to the technology but arent all broadband infrastructures shared at some point? Is the performance that detrimental compared to others or is it an old wives tale?
I'm just curious what would be the cons of just expanding the already existing cable network that has two revenue streams already up and running (tv and internet)? As far as i know Telstra have already said their cable network will be running at 100mbps in Victoria this year with the other states to follow.
Wouldnt it make more sense, be cheaper (and i admit less "future proof") to encourage not only people onto cable for the speed but ontop i think they'd be more enclined to take up pay tv as well if they were bundled in some way also with some sort of voip service (i remember the trial of this like 5 years ago and then heard nothing more of it) so you get everything on the one cable at the same time, i'm kinda puzzled as to why this has never happened?

To thank the maker for his work? This wasn't just a dirty port with an almost unusable interface like quake etc (last time i tried it it may have improved). Some work actually went into making it playable, the configurable interface and sensitivy lets you get it working just right for your style and it actually plays quite well. I've got no problems giving JC some pocket change for not just bringing the game to the iphone but actually making it fun/easy to play.

I've had all 3 OS's on my mac mini which is no performance power house, so load times etc are noticable and i have to say windows 7 beta seems to run faster on it than any other OS I've used (including the latest ubuntu and osx). I havent done any exact testing to confirm because i'm not that anal but i think the doubting thomas' will be suprised
