Submission + - Bus Pirate project v3 hardware hacking multi-tool

An anonymous reader writes: The Bus Pirate project just released v3 of their open source hardware hacking multi-tool, a USB device that interacts with electronics through a terminal interface. Use the Bus Pirate to see how much of your private information is stored on smartcard SIM chips. Explore the Wii Nunchuck over the I2C bus like Johnny Lee, or read and write EEPROM chips at any voltage. Check out the existing chip demonstrations. BPv3 has lots of features a hardware hacker might need. There's currently a group purchase of assembled hardware for $30, including wordwide shipping.
