And, it is especially wonderful when you get ripped off by the manufacturer and Steam because the DLC you purchased from GfWL is no longer available as GfWL no longer exists, and the developer tells you "Hey, you need to buy that again, should you ever need to reinstall." and Steam tells you "Oh, yeah, new buyers get all that DLC for free. You, that have had the game for years, not so much."

Not only that, but the picture of the woman towing the thing is unnervingly shopped.

And that is slowly driving me away from Google, along with it's "corrections" of your search. I search for a tech term like A, B, C and it "helps me" with AB C or AB and not C. Gah. STOP BEING SO HELPFUL, GOOGLE!

And, TigerVNC server (which I REALLY wanted to like) for Windows would crash about 30 seconds into any session.

As long as it can give me decent video performance on my Intel GMA equipped netbook, I will be happy.

And the upgrade never worked for me, giving me "unspecified" errors, nothing useful could be found in any of the logs and Microsoft Support was a bunch of useless binder monkeys, providing support of the calibre of "Is it plugged in?" Also, it was $15.

I dunno. I got one of those cheap upgrade keys and downloaded the package, and I was never able to get it to install. It would generate an unspecified error and I couldn't even find an error code to track down a fix. In addition, the customer support was a joke, spewing out the same generic "solutions" (of the class "Is the computer plugged in?"). So I gave up.

Well, Steam is pretty much lost me as a customer over me getting screwed on my Bioshock DLC purchase, so there's that. But I have too much stuff to throw it away.

I actually kinda of got into Steam because of the whole "losing physical media" thing.

Or, when Games for Windows Live shuts down, you lose DLC you paid for through it, and get told by Steam and the Publisher, "Yeah, well, you need to buy it AGAIN if you ever want to uninstall said game."
