Happy Birthday, Linus 376

Glyn Moody writes "Today is the birthday of Linus. Just under 19 years ago, on the first day the shops in Helsinki were open after the holidays, Linus rushed out and spent all his Christmas and birthday money on his first PC: a DX33 80386, with 4 Megs of RAM, no co-processor, and a 40 Megabyte hard disc. Today, the kernel he wrote on that system powers 90% of the fastest supercomputers, and is starting to find its way into more and more smartphones — not to mention everything in between. What would the world look like had he spent his money on something else?"

Anonymous Coward writes: "Just as the title suggests: Ylmf, famous for pirating Windows XP, have just released a version of Ubuntu that looks JUST like Windows XP. Really, really similar. Apparently because Microsoft were cracking down on the actual Windows XP pirating — though, I think they will still suffer for ripping off the GUI _exactly_."

No imagine the strobe room where the light source was originating from multiple locations.

We use a Bentley product called ProjectWise. It is a document management system with file attribution among other things. It is primary useful for Bentley's line of products, but we have used it as an archival system as well as a working documents that are non-Bentley specific. No... I do not work for Bentley, but my job heavily uses their products.
