I can't really be expected to customize my Java settings when no one has said that is needed.
So I naturally left everything default.

If someone is producing a modpack with 100+ mods and not giving you instructions on how to make MC use more memory, then they are an asshat. Now go forth and google for how to make MC use more memory with your 64 bit Java.

You do realize that no one that was in on that decision is even still alive right?

You do realize that this is completely besides the point, right? The question was whether the US had anything to do with the problem in Iran, and the answer is yes, yes it did. Even if everyone involved in that decision is dead, we still have to live with the consequences today. I should not have to explain this to you.

Everyone in the midwest has been saying this to rent-is-too-damn-high whiners on both coasts for a long time now, and nobody listens.

I have a number of friends working in technical fields that live in the midwest (places like Ohio) that would strongly disagree with you...

There are many who do find healthier lifestyle choices compelling.

I should have added that I recently bought my sister a new Dell PC. Ordinarily, that PC would have shipped with Windows 8.1, but Dell had a deal on their website where you could "upgrade" (Dell's words!) to Windows 7 for an additional $50. I took that deal, as since I'm the person who would have to support my sister's computer, I didn't want to be bothered

And a fine deal it is, as Microsoft gets Two OS' worth of revenue. Bles their pointy little heads.

Privilege white people committing suicide? I'm playing my smallest violin in sympathy

1. Not all startup founders are 'white people' and not all of them are 'privileged' either

2. Most of the startup founders do not commit suicide

3. Stress level for startup founders - no matter what kind of startup - is high, but this is natural, as the journey of starting up a new company (in any industry) is a rocky road filled with a mix of excitement / trepidation / frustration

As for the percentage of the excitement versus that of trepidation versus that of frustration largely depends on

A. The regional / global industrial environment in which the startup is involved with

B. The structure of the startup

C. The corporate culture of the startup, ie, the attitude of the close-knit of people working in the startup

D. The personality type of the founder himself or herself

I personally have involved in quite a number of startups and every single one has their own perculiar 'pain of labor' - and for each of the 'pain of labor', if the founder sees it as a 'challenge' it would be tackled with zeal. However, if the same 'pain of labor' is seen as 'trouble' then the thing could become a protracted problem for the company

The above is based on my own experience

YMMV

Maybe it will change some more, but I just set up WiFi on a Windows 10 build today and it had an UNCHECKED check box for sharing the password. I would have had to check the box to allow it to share. How many people go around checking boxes?

Probably the same number of people that want to save on mobile data usage with Wifi Sense?

The Slashdot summary is pure FUD. In the article itself you can see an image of the settings, with a large checkbox to enable/disable sharing with Outlook, Skype and Facebook independently and it also has a large slider above those where you can disable it entirely.

Did you read the box?

Save on mobile data usage with Wifi Sense. Join in and get connected to WiFi. By using WiFi Sense, you agree that it can use your location.

Who doesn't want to save on mobile data usage!? How many people will opt-out? Where does it say that by opting in that they are sharing their Wifi passphrase with everyone they share to? It may be obvious to you, but not to 99% of the people that will run Windows 10.
