this page [reddit.com] is a relatively extensive FAQ about the MRA movement and what it is about.

And here is an upvoted comment from that same subreddit:

Brute strength is an advantage though. An immigrant coworker from a few jobs ago recommended that I beat my wife when I complained to him that she does little at home and earns no money. He told me the tale of how his wife wouldn't iron his t-shirts because she thought hanging them was enough, so he beat her. She called her family, and her dad came over, and he beat him, and then her brother came over, and he beat the brother too. Now all his t-shirts are ironed.

There is your MRA in full. Strip away the sad attempt at public relations in the FAQ, and you find some violent, hateful motherfuckers.

You want me to post some Men's Rights subreddit threads that talk about how rape needs to be legalized? I've got some if you'd like to see them, but my guess is that you've already seen them.

You have an odd definition of "plenty".

He closed up shop, and now has an antique shop in rural Texas, and making far better cash there.

If his problem in CA was with the federal ADA, that law doesn't change in TX. (The various fringe theories of some Texans notwithstanding.)

You can break all traffic laws at will for any reason at all, or even no reason at all.

And the funny thing, Lumpy, is that this is exactly what leads to the most dangerous part of police work: traffic accidents.

See, it turns out that the vast majority of on-the-job injuries to police officers come from routine traffic accidents. Not as part of high speed chases or driving their red and white '75 Ford Gran Torino through barricades while driving Huggy Bear to the crime scene, but rather by ignoring traffic lights on their way to Krispy Kreme.

The funniest thing about MRAs (and it's a long list of funny things) is how they all hate one another.

"Excuse me, are you the Judean People's Front?"

"Fuck off, we're the People's Front of Judea!"

And the only qualification to join is you have to really, REALLY hate women.

It's as stupid as algorithm export bans. Supply of anything is rarely hampered for long provided sufficient demand. However, given a vacuum of good ideas invented by a certain political party, that party will happily supply bad ones. Should the other side manage to come up with something better, of course they'll make sure they encounter roadblocks.

Spoken another way. Conservatives seem to like to keep with the tradition of attacking supply. Liberals try to attack the demand. Since the latter came from the liberals it of course is socialism and therefore evil. It's unclear how successful tackling demand would be, but hitting supply is good for the MIC and prison industry even if it has a clear historical demonstration of failing to solve the original problem.

I think your point is invalid: The old-school, "macho" ideal put forth by this website is a far cry from the MRA agenda, which is really more intent upon striking a balance in the pendulation of the equal rights movement.

OK, let's play a game:

You give me what you think is the most serious and important MRA website, and I'll bet you I can find rape and domestic violence apologetics no more than 2 links in.

Whaddya say?

I don't live near any which are worth going to. I have a big TV and a DTS surround system at home. Why would I go out to rub elbows with the unwashed masses of asses? By the same token, I ignore mainstream media, which is bullshit, and I block ads, which are bullshit. Consequently, I knew nothing of this.

So then it could not have possibly have been "bait and switch" because you weren't going to go see the movie anyway.

Check injury rates, not just fatalities.

The majority of injuries to police are from routine traffic accidents.

My point was that the old chestnut about how police officers "put their lives on the line every day" is simply more true about truck drivers or garbage collectors than it is about cops.

The "high risk/low reward" is just not that true.
