Submission + - New Xbox 360 Rumored For May 1st Release

EveryNickIsTaken writes: Gameinformer.com is reporting that the oft-rumored Zephyr may in fact be getting a May 1st release. From the artcle:

Retailers have confirmed that the new SKU is in their systems, set for a May 1 release for $479.99. In addition to the new video interface, the system would also pack a 120 GB hard drive into its nifty black exterior.
HDMI, 120GB hard drive, and a new black case? At that price point, I'd say it's rather unlikely the HD-DVD drives will be included.

Submission + - Microsoft not dropping Hotmail name

EveryNickIsTaken writes: CNET News.com is reporting that despite planning for months to ditch the name "Hotmail" for "Windows Live Mail," Microsoft will keep the Hotmail name, renaming the service "Windows Live Hotmail." Along with the slight name change, MS will be modifying the interface to look more like Outlook's GUI.

A quote from Senior Product Mgr. Richard Sim:

"By adopting the name 'Windows Live Hotmail,' we believe we're bringing together the best of both worlds — new and old. We're able to offer the great new technology that Windows Live has to offer, while also bringing the emotional connection many existing and loyal users have with Hotmail."

Submission + - Ghostbusters 3 movie, GB video game in works

EveryNickIsTaken writes: After recent rumors about a Xbox 360 Ghostbusters game, Joystiq.com reports:

The Ghostbusters drama just keeps on coming as Dan Aykroyd himself (who starred in and wrote the original film) has revealed just what is going on with our favorite revived franchise. From Dr. Raymond Stantz himself: "Universal purchased the rights from Sony for a game. I'm actually going to have to perform and do some motion capture for them. That will be next year." So now we know exactly why Sony had to drop the hammer on ZootFly and their Ghostbusters prototype. But why the sudden amount of interest in such an obscure property? It should be obvious by now that this is no mere coincidence. The moment the theme song itself resurfaced in a soon to be released Beatmania title, we knew something had to be up. And that something is a new feature film. In yet another interview, Aykroyd reveals that not only is Ghostbusters III in production, but it's a computer animated film in which he lends his voice. All that's left for this resurrection is some new toys and Ecto Cooler, because in 2007 Ghostbusters is all up in our grills, and we're loving it.
