Sony used to be ultra-proprietary, but they made up for it with very high quality and original stuff. Now SONY is still ultra-proprietary, but their stuff is meh.
Up with the new standard!
I hope the Senate will take on Astronomy next. I'm sure more than a few Senators take umbrage with the idea that the universe is billions and billions of years old.
This argument only makes sense regarding the initial bitcoin-creator who still retains the bitcoin.
This argument makes no sense regarding the people down the road who hold bitcoin after having given up a tangible item of value.
They weren't even present at the advent of the 'build your own computer' era.
And, by the way aren't they called "The Shack," now anyway?
Overpriced as hell. Uninformed help. No loss.
Get four history professors who have divergent viewpoints and hate each other. Get somebody cool for a moderator, like Jon Stewart. Then let those boys go at it.
People who ceaselessly pump Bitcoin on the Internet think it's a good idea. An ever increasing pool of suckers helps them make money.
Crime is a fundamental component of capitalist economics. You simply cannot police everyone who wants to cheat the system (criminals), and the cheaters have a significant impact on the system.
Think Boesky, Milken, and the crooks that foisted the real estate bubble on us. Those "capitalists" are just as criminal as your extortionist data thieves (insider trading, anyone), and are just as morally bankrupt. And if that isn't enough, consider the massive post WWII black market economies of Western Europe.
The crooks are lightly capitalized entrepreneurs. Of course they're also fucking extortionists who should be in prison for a long time (are probably protected by well paid off Eastern European officials).
The word "capital" is not a holy word preserved for sacred Conservative use.
Backdoors depend upon obscurity. Once the obscurity is gone, the security is gone.
Hitler took a nation of Germans and made a poor country out of it.
Only US provided welfare brought it back!!
Welfare is great!
Doesn't that indicate that Google has just way too much market dominance if they have the power to do that?
A "license" isn't a thing--it's a right or privilege to do or not do something. The State keeps a complete record of you and the scope of your driving license at the Department of Licensing. All they need is a fingerprint, or maybe even optical recognition of your face, and they can access that data from their patrol car.
An "app" as a "license" is just as archaic as a paper license today.
Garcetti will have the undying love and money of builders and developers for years to come.
They're gonna kill the exocomps all over again.
Adobe went subscription, and I'm done with them. If Microsoft does it, I'm done with them too.
The next killer app is 3d printing & CNC milling software for the masses. If open-source takes that high ground, the dinosaurs are screwed.
Scientists will study your brain to learn more about your distant cousin, Man.
