Comment Re:Really? Vigilantes? (Score 1) 482

In an European context, vigilantes are also criminals, as the only organization which is allowed to use force is the state, which is legitimatized by the citizens.

It is easy to ignore your further points when your initial premise is instantly recognisable as utter bullshit. Use of force is not vigilantism unless it is dishing out punishment outside the law. As for the state being the only thing allowed to use force, does a club bouncer/doorman not use force from time to time to keep to defend themselves and others and to keep the peace in the club? Are you under the impression we have state-run clubs?

One of the more inspiring aspects of this whole situation is how well some immigrant communities have been stepping up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3Hp2pOQYqk

Not that any of this has anything to do with the original post about image analysis.

Protesters are protesters. Looters are looters. Listen to the audio. Which are they?

They think people with businesses are rich. In their town, charities burned yesterday.

The last protest was a peaceful one on Saturday night, about the entirely legitimate concern that the police shot a man dead. Bored idiots have been looting since then. The distinction is clear, and the family of the deceased man have spoken out against the looting. The distinction is equally clear in the Egyptian case.

And I don't like this government a bit, but we had a vote etc.

What about Android-powered media players? Is there an Android-powered counterpart to iPod touch for sale here? There is the Archos 43, but it doesn't come with Android Market.

I've had this Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 for a few weeks now. Seems to match your description - not a phone but does wifi and app store fine thanks. Has good codec support. Ogg packs down audio really well too. There's a 5" version also. More info at http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=238

Unfortunately the app store update to get books and films is US-only at the moment.
