A lot of people like to put a lot of effort into Nature, because it means stuff that you are good at is because you yourself are unique enough to have such attributes, and any fault isn't your fault it was because you got the short straw in the gene pool.

We don't like Nurture because it means we are responsible for ourselves and others. I am smart because I had good parents and teachers, and I choose to work hard at it. Not that I got the smart gene. Or I have a few extra pounds on me because I chose to eat that cupcake when I should have picked an Apple, or decided not to go to the gym. It is easier to say I have the Fat gene.

I personally think Nurture is a larger influence in nature. Sure some factors my natural colors, gender, height and perhaps chances to get some generic conditions. I may not control, but if I went out more my skin would be darker, or stayed in more it may be lighter. When growing up if I exercised a different amount or had a different diet I may an inch taller or shorter.

Well people want their opinions to be stated in a positive light, while those with opposing opinions should be worded negatively.
Why do you think for Abortion they are Pro-Choice and Pro-Life while the other side calls them Anti-Life and Anti-Choice.
You are not going to convince someone who will not believe in man made global climate change to call themselfs climate deniers. In their mind they are right, and those who think otherwise are just mindless sheep following all the liberal dribble that comes out of the internets.

How you use a device is personal to you.
For some the smart watch will add little to no value. For others they will wonder how they ever lived without it.

Windows, and Office. + The slue of apps that support the two. Programming, Servers, IE...

Now not everyone wants or needs a desktop.
They didn't get much effort in getting Mobile. Zune, Windows Phone, the PC makers are kinda floundering on Windows Mobile tablets.

Their XBox gaming is a fickle market. They are in way too tight race with Sony, then you have the mobile market taking up a lot of the indie game market. Screwups like they did with the XBox One launch can cause major issues. Forcing people to choose an other gaming system before the release.

Having the vendor lock in, just isn't working... Too many Rich HTML web applications out there, meaning people are not even caring if they are on Microsoft Server of LAMP.

In order for Microsoft to last for the future they will need to be more Open. So those .NET apps work in Linux and Windows, So people who care about the App that it runs not the OS (Like most people, just not Slashdot) means they will not need to switch to an other platform. If they keep on windows only. The fact people will feel stuck may mean they will chose a more open app,

I like my house, I like to stay inside my house... However if I feel like I am stuck in my house I will want to leave it.

Making microsoft open and allowing a way out, means people are not coming up with reasons to leave.

A lot of boys who have became interested in many other topics also have problems relating to girls.
I went to Grad school part time after about 10 years of professional experience. I was taking some classes in the Business wing of the college. And I see all the undergrads who are in their late teens and early 20's trying to talk to the opposite sex. I was just waiting for the classroom to empty and I just feel awkward just watching them trying to impress the opposite sex.

And they are still hanging on to Enterprise Class software.

But they jump headfirst without realizing what their main plan or problems they will use it to solve.

But what normally happens they just replace their existing technology and try to rig the new one to do what they did before and hope magically they will get a benefit from it.

These types of technology require you to change your full organization culture, and workflow to gain the advantage of the new technology. Just saying you got a big data project by joining all your DB tables in some big views and giving you a few reports isn't really big data.
Hosting your email on gmail isn't going to the cloud. Or even just remotely hosting you stuff on cloud systems, isn't embracing the cloud it is just offshoring your data.

Well watching the video I got, the cold childs that the marketers have overly exaggerated its abilities.
The source of amazement on the kids faces wanted to make me gag, I think they recorded them watching a magician doing his tricks, then replaced it with the clips of the kid talking on Skype.

So we have technologies Like Siri, Skyvi, or Cortana a cloud based system to interpret your speech and convert it to text, and get some context out of the sentences. So after that point you are now translating a chat message. So you can do what google translate does and translates the text to an other text.

Then we take the speech synthesizers which we had for decades to speak the text back.

So I expect the lag will be like the lag we get on Cortana wait for the sentence to complete and parse the data and get a response.

Now I am not dissing on microsoft it is a good feature to have in skype. But the video made me sick to my stomach. Kids may have had that reaction if this technology was released in the 1990's. Because right now this is only an incremental logical next step feature... Not a breakthrough.
