Canada is even worse. We have winter driving for 3+ months out of the year yet no winter driving tests are mandatory. Fucking ridiculous. So many people don't realize that slamming on your brakes when you are about to lose control on an ice covered road is the WORST thing to do. Not only that but winter tires on sedans/SUVs should be mandatory. I know I'll never own a car again in winter months without winter tires in Canada.

oh shut the fuck up. If someone offers you 2 billion dollars would you fucking refuse it? I know I sure as fuck wouldn't. He could personally refund all kickstarter backers 10x the amount they DONATED and still be laughing all the way to the bank, Is he being a sellout? Sure, but who can blame him when 2 billion dollars on the line.

I have been using PHPStorm for years (from same company as IDEA) so I might be slightly biased, but when I started Android Develpment I used Eclipse for some reason becasue it seemed like the defacto standard for android development. I used it for a month and was incredibly frustrated. Eclipse seemed like something from 10 years ago, not a modern IDE, it was also running incredibly slow on my machine with a project that contained thousands of files. I then switched to Idea Community 12 and was more productive after 3 days than I was with eclipse after a month, although fair enough that my previous experience with PHPStorm helped a lot but even then their ide is simplier yet more powerful than eclipse.

I agree completely back in the 4.x days, even early 5.x, But since 5.3 I think they are actually starting to develop the language seriously. The main problem is you have a TON of code out there, so you REALLY have to think of the risks, pros, and cons of doing a BC break. Really what they should do is just make version 6 already FIX all of the bullshit in the language and not care about the many many BC breaks. Actively release fixes for 5.x branch for a few years while people transition to the 6.x branch

I dont get the point of this story. This is EXTREMELY common in Canada, and honestly if you pay sticker price for your phone/internet (from the Big 3, not independent operators) in Canada you are an idiot/sucker.

All you have to do is call up your provider, hit Cancel service, give them a big sob story on how you LOVE the service but due to unforseen circumstances you can no longer afford it so unfortunately you have to cancel. They will work extremely hard to give you discounts to something that you can "afford". I have seen people get 75% off their cell phone bill (sticker price being $120 for their package but they were paying $30)
It used to be easier, but after a couple years they realized a ton of people were taking advantage of their retentions department (i.e calling them up threatening to cancel even though they had no intention of cancelling to begin with) so they clamped down a bit. You still get discounts just not as big of discounts as before, and if they think you are insincere in your threat to cancel they may call your bluff. But even with that, I was still able to get a $70 plan for $45
