I have to agree with the ridiculous amount of Bios revisions they have had. The D620/630 series had only 10 I believe. Problem with the D series was that we had so many bad boards and LCDs. The E6400 line was a slight improvement.

I don't believe the 6400/6410 series were/are flimsy. We ran over an ATG E6400 with a F-150 four times, turned it on and it still booted Windows. Obviously the screen was all cracked. It is still running to this day (about a year later) with all the original components except the screen and hard drive. Hard drive was a little warped so we swapped it out. Even though they may feel flimsy, they can take a beating.

The E6410 line has been decent for us so far. I'm so glad they got rid of the glossy back. We tried out the Elitebooks but working on them was sort of a pain (lots of wires). The HP's had only about 6 or 7 more screws than the Dells did. We also didn't go with HP because of the history of failures in the past and their support on servers is a pain.

Submission + - Robbers steal 100+ copies of COD: Black Ops (baltimoresun.com)

1080bogus writes: "Handgun-wielding robbers who burst into a video-game store in Harford County over the weekend made off with more than just cash. They also stole more than 100 copies of the highly anticipated "Call of Duty: Black Ops." The Black Ops games stolen Saturday night had been set aside for sale on Tuesday, said Monica Worrell, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office. Fans across the country have pre-ordered copies to avoid missing out." I'm glad I bought mine through Steam. I don't have to worry about burglars or lines.

A GameStop located in Harford County, Maryland was the target of a violent attack on Saturday night, which saw two men picking up cash and consoles as well as more than 100 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Man Dies of Caffeine Overdose 5

morgan_greywolf writes "A British man died after poisoning himself with two spoonfuls of caffeine powder bought over the internet. Michael Lee Bedford, 23, from Mansfield, central England, was at a party in April when he swallowed caffeine powder that a friend bought online for £3.29 ($5.26), Nottingham Coroner's Court heard Thursday. He washed the powder down with an energy drink, and around 15 minutes later began sweating and vomiting blood. He later died at King's Mill Hospital in Nottinghamshire, central England, the Nottingham Post reported."

That's the way it was when I bought my TV from there. I even knew the girl at the customer service desk. It's not the employee's fault though. She said she would get yelled at because I didn't sign up for both their credit cards as well as everything in your list. I told her to tell her bosses to stick that crap where the sun don't shine as I know that's where they make the profit. I'm a cheap bastard anyways.

I bought my first laptop from there and got the optimization for free because it was the display model (plus discount off the laptop). All they do is create recovery disks for you, reinstall a basic installation of Windows, give you the latest drivers, the general applications (Adobe, Java, etc), and send you on your way.

I don't even try to convince friends and family not to go there any more because they'll go no matter what I say or how much cheaper it is online. Apparently they know better just like my neighbor telling me Antivirus 2009 is the best and finds more infections than any other AV. I tell them if they go there not to buy anything extra but make the salesperson think you will until right at the end and you have the product at the checkout. It's happened to me (and other people I know) that I told them from the start I didn't need anything extra and somehow the quantity went from 10 to 0 in ten minutes. Go there two hours later (different salesperson) and viola they have stock again. Just play there game til the checkout and you'll get what you need.

I called their Pro Tech support to help diagnose a very similar issue. The CPU's were running at 6-700Mhz. I spent 45 min on the phone with them until I finally found a forum explaining it had to do with the Intel SpeedStep feature. When you go into the BIOS, go to Performance, SpeedStep, and disable it. They said thanks, added to their Knowledge Base and gave us one more reason to get away from them.

Now I can make use of my extended battery that I bought off of woot today. Seriously though, it would be a pointless app to drain and deteriorate the already poor life of the battery. But as others have posted, the application would be better suited for something other than the iPhone.
