Other quantum systems to date have only been able to perform single, prescribed tasks. Other researchers say the system could be scaled up. 'The researchers ran each program 900 times. On average, the quantum computer operated accurately 79 percent of the time, the team reported in their paper.'"

your probably right, for mainstream media news stories anyway, most of the tweets would be pointless repeating.
but what about news that the mainstream media doesn't want you to hear?
for example, anti-olympic protesters at the upcoming games in Vancouver BC could use this to search for first hand accounts of the protests. i could see co-ordinators using this service to communicate with protestors in realtime to amplify and distribute virally what will be posted on sites like indymedia.org.
that is but one example, i can think of a lot more types of first person, accurate, original news that the likes of Reuters, CNN, NBC and Fox wouldn't like you to hear.
not that im saying thats good justification for enabling google to search tweets, that particular kingdom of retardedness can stay outta my search results please.

BlizzCon Keynote — New WoW Expansion, Diablo 3 Details 316
BlizzCon kicked off this morning with a keynote address that brought some major announcements for some of their games. First, World of Warcraft's third expansion, Cataclysm, was officially revealed. It differs from the previous expansions in that they will not be creating an entirely new continent for players to explore. Instead, the two huge continents from the original game will be going through a literal cataclysm, causing some zones to be destroyed, new ones to become available, and existing ones to be entirely revamped. Big news came for Diablo III as well, with the announcement of the Monk class and a trailer showing how it plays. More details for both games as well as StarCraft II will undoubtedly become available over the next few days, but read on for more about what we already know. Briden writes: Earlier this week, slashdot covered the EFF's criticism of the Burning Man Photo Policy. Burning Man has now responded on their own blog:
"In fact, there are but two essential reasons we maintain these increased controls on behalf of our community: to protect our participants so that images that violate their privacy are not displayed, and to prevent companies from using Burning Man to sell products."
"We don't remove images from pages just because they criticize us (I've never been involved in taking down an image from an editorial blog criticizing Burning Man, and it's certainly not because there haven't been any!). We're also not at all interested preventing participants from sharing their personal imagery or impressions of the event on third party sharing sites in a noncommercial manner, so long as they observe the concerns about privacy and commercialism. no, it is valid, as it's aimed at the current google service.
the point of my post was basically to say that, trusting google to host your mission critical "waves", is just as insane as trusting gmail, or amazon S3 or any other hosted service to hold your mission critical information.
i'm specifically talking about businesses here. I happily use a gmail account for personal correspondence. I do not use gmail in my corporate office, as it doesn't make sense.

yes i know, did you read the last line of my post?

running your own server would mitigate all those issues, and i think it's good that it's open sourced and available now so people can do this.

by current form, i mean, hosted on googles waveservers.
