the lawyer doesn't need to be annoyed or have too much time on his hands. legally, if copyrights are not actively protected, they can be lost. this is due diligence. it's not something that can just be ignored.. Xerox used to have an ad back in the day saying 'there are 2 Rs in Xerox (r)' - the second R being the tiny R denoting that the name is a registered trademark.

for one the phones are a lot harder to hold. they're very awkward to get used to, so they slip out of one's hands easily. i've had every version of the iphone (except the 3gs but who cares, it's basically a 3g as far as the case goes) & treated them with utmost care. but getting my iphone 4 i accidentally dropped it one night getting into my car. the phone landed on the concrete & hit it in such a way that the entire back (so lucky it was the back & not the front) glass panel shattered into a million pieces. it's VERY easy to do. all your bag phones from the 80s don't have such expansive glass areas like the iphone 4 does.

maybe it's just cultural. middle eastern people as well as asians are always encouraged by their parents to take practical or prestigious, respectable, honorable jobs. doctors, lawyers, etc. and also engineers. it just seems to be a cultural thing. it's really that simple. this is a bullshit article to waste time & sell ad space.

definitely. i applaud jobs for having the balls to come up with this product. throughout the years apple has taken some risks, & this is one of them. i think it will pay off. by forcing this small form factor, he is raising the bar & forcing other manufacturers to compete with it, as he did with the iphone. hell i have a friend who, upon discovering the existence of the ipad, was extremely disappointed & said he hated what it was going to be. yet he ordered one anyways & now that he has it he's in love with it. i reminded him of his comments last month. :-x when the iphone first came out people didn't like the touch screen & many still don't. many reviewers were concerned that the touch screen would be a deterrent. but it proved wildly successful & shortly thereafter many manufacturers started to include touch screens in their phones (even though their phones still had tons of buttons, which i find... funny.) tablet PCs in general are niche products. not everyone uses them, & the ones that do are usually niche segments like the ones you mentioned above. -though i gotta say, a mechanic would get plenty of grease on that screen. :-x

to me. i've never seen the prequels and i don't want to. i think i've seen one matrix sequel but i don't even remember it. i refuse to watch any of the matrix sequels again. i won't see the star wars prequels. i will watch the originals made in the late 70s & i will watch the original matrix. my mind has not been tainted & for that i'm grateful.

i would think using the onscreen keyboard might be faster? once when my keyboard broke, i used my wacom pen tablet as a stylus of sorts & tapped the onscreen keyboard. worked well enough! i'd say it should work better than handrwriting recognition
