Comment Black Mirror (Score 1) 192

Sorry I'm violating the fact that we are discussing 2021, and Black Mirror is from 2016-2019, but if you haven't seen it, it is a great series. Each episode is a separate dystopian story that takes place somewhere between present and future. It shows the downside of high tech in a black humor kind of way. Wikipedia describes it as:
As Black Mirror is an anthology series, each episode is standalone and can be watched in any order.[5] The programme is an instance of speculative fiction within science fiction: the majority of episodes are set in dystopian near-futures with novel technologies that exaggerate a trait from contemporary culture, often the internet.[6][7][8] An example is "Crocodile", where the Recaller device used to view a person's memories is the main difference from the modern world.[6] Many such technologies involve altering the human body or consciousness, with little in-universe concern for the morality of these actions.[7] They provide convenience or freedom to the user, but exacerbate problematic personality traits.[7][8] Adrian Martin of Screen wrote that many episodes depict "basic human emotions and desires" that "intersect with, and get twisted by, a technological system that invariably spins out of control and into catastrophe".[6] The settings are generally patriarchal and capitalist, and most episodes explore topics associated more with masculinity than femininity.[9] Recurring themes throughout Black Mirror include data privacy and surveillance, virtual reality, individualism and consumerism.[6][7] Many episodes have plot twists.[10][11]

INDIAN BAR ASSOCIATION SERVES LEGAL NOTICE UPON DR. SOUMYA SWAMINATHAN,THE CHIEF SCIENTIST,WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION A legal notice is served by Indian Bar Association (IBA) upon Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, the Chief Scientist at the World Health Organisation (WHO) on May 25, 2021for her act of spreading disinformation and misguiding the people of India, in order to fulfil her agenda.The notice is based on the research and clinical trials carried out by ‘Front Line COVID-19Critical Care Alliance’ (FLCCC) and the British Ivermectin Recommendation Development (BIRD) Panel, who have presented enormous data that strengthen the case for recommendation of Ivermectin in prevention and treatment of COVID-19.Dr. Soumya Swaminathan has ignored these studies/reports and has deliberately suppressed the data regarding effectiveness of the drug Ivermectin, with an intent to dissuade the people of India from using Ivermectin. However, the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi have refused to accept her stand and have
Page 2of 2retained the recommendation for Ivermectin under ‘May Do’ category, for patients with mild symptoms and those in home isolation, as stated in ‘The National Guidelines for COVID-19 management’ last updated on May 17, 2021.In order to stop Dr. Soumya Swaminathan from causing further damage to the life of citizens of this country, IBA has decided to initiate legal action against her and as part of the process, a legal notice has been served upon her.P.S.IBA has observed that the content of several web links to news articles/reports included in the notice served upon Dr. Soumya Swaminathan on May 25, 2021, which was visible before issuing the notice, has either been removed or deleted now.IBA had anticipated this and therefore we have downloaded soft copies of these news articles before issuing the legal notice. It is ludicrous on part of the forces resorting to such cowardly acts, for they do not know that they are providing very strong evidence of their desperate attempt at blocking information/news regarding Ivermectin.

Just for the sake of comparison, could someone produce a comparison of the energy and sources of energies used to power the following:
* electric cars
* banks, PayPal, mortgage companies, stock market and forex trading infrastructure, and other finance related institutions
* data centers that support social media websites and Big Tech
* state government IT systems
* federal government IT systems
If one of these uses more power than DOGE and BTC, then we should be objective and seek the removal/reduction of whomever is using the most power :)
