Why does it have to be an "author"?

How is ChatGPT not just another tool like any other tool being used to generate data for science? Just because in the past the tools were mostly used to create graphs and charts doesn't mean that such tools can't create text and words describing data instead.

This is just a technicality of what we are calling the contributions of ChatGPT to science being authorship or data.

How does this not describe almost everything that exists on every streaming platform described as "entertainment"? That's the whole point of the entertainment to sap up resources for no other purpose than to pass time without feeling the misery of our outside existence.

I'm starting to think that these managers are starting to realize that they aren't needed and are scrambling to point blame somewhere else.

I think work from home is demonstrating that sometimes the manager is managing too much and should just butt out especially when they have no clue what they are talking about.

Are artists going to have video themselves making the art to prove they made it themselves? How are we going to tell what is human created and what is AI generated? If only just an artist using an AI to generate the source material for them to then copy, is that original art?

To produce more copies you just copy the files these days. It doesn't cost the company anything. In fact the pirates are probably saving them money by storing, distributing, and advertising for them at zero cost.

Yes you have to pay the artist to produce the product in the first place, but after that the content exists. It will never cost more to produce it unless you want to pay someone for some other service like marketing it or distributing it, but that isn't a production cost, that's a sales and distribution cost. So those are the only additional people getting hired. People designed to make an existing product sell more. They want you to pay them so they can hire someone to sell more stuff to you.

We don't know for sure, but as the article states they suspect that his prep was leaked. Meaning that Neimann knew ahead of time what Carlson strategy would be. With that said the game still had to be played, the fact that Carlson couldn't recognize that his prep was compromised and that his plan wasn't working still should have been possible.
