Comment Re:Abandonment of small and entry-level car market (Score 1) 302

Incumbent US-focused auto makers/sellers, whether HQ'd in the US or elsewhere, should be worried about their own collective abandonment of the market for entry-level cars and small cars in general.

Lucky for them, they are insulated from Reality. Unlucky for us as we have to pay to maintain their ignorance of Reality. But, that is what America has become: A few people utterly disconnected from Reality while an entire country labors away to keep those few insulated from Reality. War will remind them. Sounds fun for the rest of us.

Exactly. In some states itâ(TM)s illegal to even sell a new car direct to the public.

You do realize that there is a reason such laws were passed? Same with movie theaters and movies.

Hint: It is/was for YOUR protection. Somehow or another, it got into someone's head to pass a law preventing vertical monopolies from forming. Those laws were the result. Go ahead and tear them down if you want. I don't have much time left anyways. Why should I care if you work with great motivation towards building vertical monopolies?

The literally CAN"T compete. In my lifetime, I have seen 3 major bailouts of American automobile manufacturers. Even just 1 represents an unhealthy industry. Those fuckers just want money, they have absolutely no interest at all in building cars. They build cars just because that is how they print money, not because cars have any intrinsic value.

There are no moments, when you are traveling above 20mph (~30kmh) that it is safe to look away or 'relax'. I am not one of those people who think that my way is the right way and must enforce it upon everyone else. That being said, to me, I never use cruise control. The only place it can be used reasonably is on a long and empty highway; otherwise, you will be constantly messing with it. With adaptive cruise control, you won't have to constantly mess it; however, there is a second issue: Your feet and mind need to be instantly available from time to time, and when using cruise control, I find that my feet and mind are not instantly available.

It is simpler to just always be in control. Maybe not easier from an energy usage perspective, but I don't have to deal with suddenly taking full control. Which, over time, is ultimately easier for me.

Interestingly, both boys and girls are heavily influenced as children. Boys are influenced not to cry. You seem them cry fairly often up until about puberty, but even before puberty, they already cry less often than girls do. That is a direct effect of the social programming that we subject our children to.

Girls are taught to be pretty princesses that will carry babies. Of what use is detailed intricate thought when your entire reason for existing is to be an attractive mate? Maybe we should look a little more closely at exactly what we are subjecting our children to? I get all sorts of creeped out when I am watching modern children shows. The cartoons and kids shows that are being used to distract the children so the adults can do whatever adults want to do.

I have seen this play out in front of my eyes dozens of times in my lifetime. :(
