Here on Slashdot we have seen an auction of the only English version of Final Fantasy 2 NES Cartridge sell for $50K and the Legend of Zelda NES Nintendo Prototype go for an outstanding 150k and that barmy million dollar plus auction of complete game sets and consoles. How much then would you think a Sega Pluto which is a Sega Saturn variant of which only 2 are known to exist, the auction on Ebay ended at $15.500 but didnt hit the reserve price. How much is possibly one of the rarest consoles in the world worth ?

The release of WiiU Nintendo`s latest console was at first a strong seller with a mass of impressive launch titles such as New Super Mario Bros U, Arkham City Armoured Edition, Assassins Creed 3 and Call of Duty Black Ops 2. But recently the WiiU has become very stagnant and sales are far less impressive than required, which has prompted leading UK retailers such as Amazon and Asda to cut a rather big £50 of the price of the WiiU, at this time theres no official word that Nintendo UK are behind the price drop.

The release of the PSVita was supposed to bring in a new generation of games for the most powerful conventional gaming handheld. Yet the PSP which was released way back in 2005 still continues to outsell its younger brother. The PSP was the first mainstream gaming handheld to be easily hacked for homebrew without the need for any flash carts and even today we are still seeing new releases of Custom Firmwares and emulators of such systems as Snes, CPS1, CPS2 and NeoGeo for the PSP.

Since the release of the 3DS, Nintendo have been successful in keeping piracy away from its latest handheld with firmware updates which also have blocked Flashcarts that play Nintendo DS Games and Homebrew from working on the 3DS. DCEmu.com have reported today that one flashcart maker has got full DS and even 3DS games working on the 3DS. The video posted shows DS games working then via a switch a solitary 3DS game playing, a worrying start to the new year for Nintendo. Although 3D Homebrew and Emulators would be excellent to see.

Fans of Emulation and Homebrew have not had much to cheer about over the years, the recent generation of consoles have all pretty much killed off any hacking by constant firmware updates. The days of PSP Homebrew have died a death and consoles like the Caanoo, GP2x and even the mighty Openpandora never really lived up to the massive expectation. There is a glimmer of hope from a team of homebrew developers who have developed a new console called the GCW-Zero, a new Open Source Handheld system which uses the OpenDingux Linux OS, the specs are impressive with a Ingenic JZ4770 1 GHz MIPS processor, Vivante GC860, capable of OpenGL ES 2.0, 3.5 inch LCD with 320x240 pixels; 4:3 aspect ratio, 512 MB DDR2 and 16GB of internal memory which can via external memory card be extended by another 32GB. N64 and PS1 emulation and everything below should be at full speed in time.
